Terms of Service
Last updated: June 17, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Smith Medical, P.C., which operates TrueID.Help (“TrueID”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TrueID.
What TrueID is
TrueID is a digital-identity protection toolkit. It helps you monitor for breaches, check links and passwords, follow privacy and recovery steps, and track data-broker opt-outs. TrueID is a software tool, not an insurance policy, a credit-repair service, a law firm, or a guarantee against identity theft.
Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
Acceptable use
You agree to use TrueID lawfully and only for your own identity protection. Our full Acceptable Use Policy is part of these Terms and describes prohibited conduct, including attempting to abuse, reverse-engineer, or overload the service, or using it to harm others.
Subscriptions and billing
- TrueID offers a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to future billing periods.
Third-party data and services
Some features rely on third-party data sources (for example, breach data from Have I Been Pwned). We do not control that data and cannot guarantee it is complete, current, or accurate. TrueID surfaces information to help you act; the decisions and actions are yours.
Disclaimers
TrueID is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect every breach, scam, or threat. See our Disclaimer for details.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Smith Medical, P.C. and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from identity theft, fraud, or data exposure. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using TrueID and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or legal risk.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Smith Medical, P.C. is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
